Anyone use the Torque OBDII bluetooth app?

I bought one from amazon, with high ratings and tried it in the X tonight.
When I open the Torque Pro app, it tells me that my 'adapter error count' is 8, and anything other than 0 means something is wrong with the adapter. I am thinking maybe it has to do with BMW being a finnicky auto brand.
Thoughts?

I tried one before just for fun and it worked but that's generic and it doesn't get you all you need for diagnostic though. I don't remember the brand I used and I don't think it's finicky about brand though. Get the INPA/GT1 cable package for BMW stuff. If you are looking for a specific problem and want to scan your car now, let me know and come by. I can scan it for you.

I use mine all the time on all my cars including e39's e46's e53's e60's e90's ect. My adapter works flawlessly for getting codes and reading sensor data.

Thanks guys.
Maybe I just got a faulty one.
It shows my Revs and stuff but keeps saying 'adapter error code'. This is the one I got http://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B009RLB...290_TE_3p_dp_1
Might give another one a go...

I just ordered that one because I thought I lost my eBay one. But I found my eBay one today, and it works as long as I open torque after I already have the device paired. If I try to pair after opening torque it won't work.

I keep my bluetooth adapter in the car in case the BM Trouble U throw up a DTC when I'm not near my computer with Carsoft 6.5 or BMW Scanner 1.4.

Troubleshooted the BMW one Christmas when the family was out Christmas shopping and it told me I had a misfire in one of the cylinder with fuel cut off. Swap the coil pack with an adjacent cylinder coil pack and the DTC moved to the other cylinder, so I was able to buy a coil pack on a Friday night at an Autozone and had my X fix.

I always keep my OBDII Bluetooth adapter in the X. I use it on friends cars more than any of mine since I have a laptop rig W/ SSS/DIS ect.

I used it yesterday to pull codes on a coworkers KIA and came up with a bunch of Lean Bank codes. That told me vacuum leak, I went right to the intake and found a rotted hose letting a bunch of unmetered air in. Grabber her a new one on break at the local dealer and had it fixed in 15 min. She was mesmerized

It's a very handy tool for under 15.00............Thanks Ebay China!

I have a fake autel scan tool that works very well, but this bt bit is just to leave in car for emergencies. its nice and tiny and the Torque app does provide nice colorful graphs compared to my scan tool which is dot matrix screen.

I just tested mine. Works with Torque and BMWhat Lite.

I did connect to the obd thing before opening either app on my Oneplus One.

I am still trying to connect obd2 via bluetooth for Torque pro app! I have used few adapters! One of them is elm327.....I know many adaptors are 'broken'!
My adaptors can not read car's ECU!
