Noise from climate control housing
Every time I start the X I hear a groan that lasts about a 1 1/2 seconds coming from the climate control housing, I can put my hand on it and feel the vibration. Is there a door that opens and closes each time the key is turned or the vehicle started. It's fairly loud and annoying. Any Ideas?

there's a small fan inside the IHKA that comes on when the vehicle is unlocked or a door handle is lifted. It draws air into the vent on the left side...across a thermistor...which prepares the HVAC system to adjust to the temp you have set.
That fan runs up tp 16 minutes after shut down when the last call has been made on the P bus (door handles, windows, door locks)and the vehicle goes to sleep. When the IHKA gets noisy...its usually from a build up of dust on the fan blades. Try taking a soft bristle brush to the vents if they are clogged with dust. Or if you are handy..remove the IHKA and open it up to clean the fan off and put a few drops of oil on the magnetic spindle the fan sits on to help with the squeaking noise.
