CODE 4E87

I HAVE ONE X5 E53 4.4 2005 AND THE LAST WEEK I HAVE "TRANS FAILSAFE PROG" ERROR AND THE CODE IS 4E87.
WE CHANGE TRANS OIL AND FILTER WE CHECK ALL SOLENOID(BLUE, YELLOW,BLACK) WE CHECK THE VALVE UNDER GEAR SELECTOR ALL GOOD.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

what did you use to pull up that code? can`t find anything in the Bentley service manual.

JUST CAME UP ONE DAY WITH OUT REASON FOR ME. I AM DRIVING AND THE CODE THE MESSAGE IS COMING UP " TRANS FAILSAFE MODE"

THE ERROR CODE IS 4E87 MAGNETIC VALVE '4' ( shift lock)

i would remove the mechtronic plug, clean, apply dielectric grease and plug back in.

clear codes and see if it comes back

"apply dielectric grease and plug back in."
Where are you saying to apply the grease? As a "dielectric" is an insulator I do not think you would want that on the pins as it may cause more problems.

tell you what... coat your fingers in dielectric grease and touch both sides of a hot 110v circuit and let us all know what happens?

dielectric grease is not an insulator, I use it all the time at work it actually conducts electricity .

WE ALREADY CLEAN ALL THE CONNECTIONS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE GEARBOX AND NO DIFFERENCE.
