I need to do this to mine... anyone know the diameter of the v2's? I would like to buy a universal off ebay from the guy I've been buying from for years... but need to know the diameter.

I appreciate the feedback, but I've been using these other brands for about a decade. Never had a ring failure and at $60-$80 a set... I intend to keep using them.

RB I'd really appreciate that. I did some research and from I gathered... the appropriate ring sizes are: 120mm and 140mm... but wanted to verify. I think that info was from one of the members here during a retrofit and he posted pics with a tape measure.

X5SND used full circle 120/140mm XBA Rings from Morimoto, mounted behind the stock rings. He did note in his build thread that a 125mm would actually be perfect, because the 120mm was a tad small.

Which is what makes me think the 146/128mm combo from hid.lighting might work for you guys. Now you're intriguing me to try on my own lights (facelift replicas for pre-facelift I posted on page 1) with the hid.lighting Hong Kong kit before dropping the $200 with Umnitza, just because it annoys the shit out of me that they don't give their sizes out so I can't "gauge" how good the fitment is going to be.

There are also US sellers on ebay selling full circle "Universal V2" rings which you can get in 120/140mm and those would replace the stock rings fully as they have a diffuser.

Yes, I've also contacted hid.lighting and they can do a 120/140mm kit, but there is a language barrier unfortunately. I did not know they had a 146 and 128 (from different kits I'm sure). I think the 146 might be too big though? And the 128mm would be about perfect as you said. Maybe a 140mm/128mm would be perfect? X5SND's pics looked like decent fitment with 120/140...

I've seen the universal V2 US sellers as well... they are in the $50/pr range if memory serves. Still better than Umnitza, whom I agree is being a bit "protective" by not giving the size of the rings. And I am being very politically correct with "protective."

As I mentioned about Umnitza, the quality of the product is excellent. I do not know how giving the diameter of their rings vs. another brand in order to gauge fitment on custom applications "allows people to copy them", it has nothing to do with the internal technology.

I sent a message to hid.lighting, you have to remember that we are working with two different housings that look similar. Mine are aftermarket 01-03 Spyder facelift looking housings, while you are looking to use factory facelift housings.

Why not PM Mike (pnoyako85) as I think the guy who did the work on his lights gave him the stock angel eye rings back, just have him measure them with a caliper in order to double check?

The universal V2 rings on ebay are about $40/pair, for my application since it is a retrofit I'd like to have the relay harness for the battery since I am actually adding rings for the first time.

Umnitza WILL NOT tell you the diameter of their rings, trust me I've asked. When I get my set of V2's I will note down and post the sizes because honestly I don't know what the big secret is. There are tons of copies and lesser quality rings available in various sizes, giving out the diameter of the rings for their application does nothing to impact the technology.

Pre-facelift E53's take the 158/128mm rings readily available on ebay in $55 kits for example.

For what its worth, the E53 facelift should have something along the lines of a 120/140 mm application, X5SND used 120/140 XBA Rings from Morimoto on his facelift, and snugged them behind the stock rings. I'm guessing the Umnitza V2 are somewhat similar sizing, they told me that the E53's take 11X and 12X rings.
