RLS Programming - Denver X5 Needed Please

I have been trying to complete my auto headlamp retrofit and to make long story short I think my last obstacle is the result of properly programming my RLS sensor. Since mine is a 2001 the RLS does not show up as an available module and supposedly there is a way to "trick" it so NCS sees it as a 2002 or newer thus allowing the RLS to be recognized for configuration but can't for the life of me figure out how to accomplish this. What I am looking for now is someone in the Denver area that would be so kind as to let me install my RLS into their vehicle (2002 -2006 equipped with rain sensing wipers) as to complete the configuration programming. Thanks in advance to anyone providing me with a few minutes use of their car for this.

So I'd like to report that I was finally able to figure out how to generate GM SA and FA for a 02+ production date in ZEKO and use in NCS to allow the RLS to show up for coding for e39/e53 and to set my climate comfort windshield.

Nice work. I'd love some beginner's discussion on this. I have had the climate comfort windscreen in my 2000 E39 with all the right hardware bits for nearly 10 years. I have never gotten past connecting the hardware. My auto lights do not work and neither do my auto sensing wipers. (not that I drive it in the rain).

I would sure appreciate a step 1) buy a computer type discussion.

So just to confrim you have an LCM 4 installed? Did your car originally come with rain sensing wipers (AIC)? If not then you will have to add "0521" to the Vehicle Order. You will need to make sure the following are correct:

* Auto-lamp setting must be selected in coding of the LCM

* RLS must be coded correctly "Wischenmotor - Windscreen wiper motor" setting must be "Wert_01 - Value 1" as that is the correct setting for E39/53; the other setting is for E46/E85
* Since this is a retrofit on an '01 or older then the RLS coding will not show up in NCS Expert reading your car's VIN so you will have to download or I can email to you, the Zeko program which allow you to input an 02 or new production date and then you use it generate GM SA adn VN numbers for manual entry into NCS which will then allow the RLS to show up as a codable module. If you need further guidance in this you can contact me and I can assist to the best of my ability.

* Prism/mount for RLS must be propertly mounted ("lenses" must all be centered in the clear area of the mount location) if you have replaced the AIC mount/prism with the RLS mount/prism; if you have a replacement windshield with it factory mouted then this shouldn't be a concerm - I purchased a mount/prism from a supplier on-line and would not work so ended up getting one removed from a BMW windshield and that solved that issue for me

* Reset/intialize adaptation using INPA

I would love to help you get it up and running as I had to fumble my way through it and was very frustrating at times but was so happy for success!

Sweet! Thanks! I've had these inop for nearly a decade. I really do want to get them working. The only problem is that I need to start from the waaaaay beginning and even get the notebook, software, and connections needed to even START programming. I do have a couple solid candidates for the notebook- serial ports, etc- but I have not yet been successful at my early attempts to get virtual machines running with NCS, etc.
