Exclamation 01 X5 Overhaul?

I want to give my engine an overhaul to make it like "new" so to say what should I replace given that this car hasn't been the well taken care of by previous owner, I want this car to be in great shape so that all I have to worry about is oil changes ! Any suggestions? thanks a lot !

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
How long of a list do you want? I'd say replace anything plastic or with a rubber bushing at this point lol

You may as well just quit while you're ahead and buy an F15 - I reckon the cost will end up the same!

I would just do the basic maintenance items, drive it for a bit, and start replacing things as they come up in order of priority.

Sometimes with cars, you've got to remind yourself that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.......the amount of times I've pre-emptively replaced something only to end up way way down the rabbit hole.....

.....like the time I broke a wheel stud, and ended up replacing every suspension bushing, installing coilovers, adjustable arms, rebuilding the calipers and all in all having the car off the road for 2 months.......

Agree with SMOKEY53, no matter how deep your pockets are that's a lot of scratch to spend on a 14-15yr old car. I would just buy something new or newer depending on what your budget is.
