Can I repair this hose/fitting?

Broke this hose off last night and i'm curious as to what the experts think about using a fitting like this (plastic or metal) to repair it.

Why not just buy the hose from FCP Euro, they have great prices, besides we all know how much pressure the system is under so why risk it.

It sucks that the broken hose comes part of an expensive hose assembly.

Looks like it can be done with that fitting, using epoxy to fix one end to the big hose, and a clamp on another.

But unless that hose is almost new, I'd just replace it and maybe even use it as an excuse for a cooling system overhaul.

I wouldn't glue or use that plastic fix! If you need to fix it today or looking for a temp fix you could always tap it and use a barb type fitting but if it was me I would just replace the whole piece.

For a cheap repair you could get a brass tube at Ace hardware store or your local hobby shop and stick it in both pieces to act as a splint and use every red neck shade tree mechanic's magic tube of JB Weld to fix it.

If it was part of the vacuum system (ie no fluid transfer) a repair would probably fix it permanently but I wouldn't risk it being coolant. That's +13psi of pressure on that plus vibrations/bulbs.
