What does this error code means? suspension issue

EHC-74EHC: Accumulator pressure remains constant(accumulator filling requested)

The ...SELFLEVEL SUSP. INACT.......came up in the dash.

I cleared this code using INPA and it came back a few days later.

I was getting this error message when my alternator starting active finicky. I monitored it and sure enough occasionally the voltage would drop from 13.5 to 11v while driving and immediately after the Self Level Inactive message would come up. It happened every few days. I finally replaced the alternator and it hasn't happened again. Try monitoring your voltage while you drive around with the OBC set to show Volts.

Brand new or rebuilt?

I went through 3 rebuilt alternators in one month before I got one that had steady voltage and no spikes or dips. It's free to test it, just set your OBC to show voltage and monitor for a bit. Won't cost you a dime, so what can it hurt right?

Checking the voltage is free.

Your only other option is to hook it up to a BMW diagnostic system to read exactly what is throwing the code.

Find someone local with a diagnostic system. Have them scan it to find out what comes up. Could be 100 different things with the suspension. Sensors, module, pump and then some. The only way to know for sure is to plug it in and find out what she says.

So the code message in my initial post, is that a generic code?

Yes, a generic code telling you that something is causing the self level suspension to deactivate itself. One thing goes wrong, no matter what it is and that same message will come up.

I do have the software package....DIS/GT1, INPA...thats what I used to get this code.

The code above, i used DIS/GT1 to get. I also used INPA and it gave me a code in German.

"116 speicherdruck bleibt konstant, wenn speicherfuellen angefordert wird"

thats the code i got using INPA.
