Mystery light in door?

While working on my window regulator today I noticed a tiny light bulb in a plastic bracket hanging on two wires behind the door switch cluster. It appears as if it supposed to go somewhere in or around the switch cluster but I could not figure out where, especially as all switches are lit up anyways. Any ideas?

When it gets dark enough...see if the interior and exterior door handles are illuminated on that door like it does on the other ones.
