Rears? I just pressed them in and let the paint on the OD serve that function.

Thanks, just wasn't sure if new bushes needed lube to prevent them from squeaking, sorry if this is dumb but what is OD.

No lubricant needed, they press into place dry just fine. I wiped the inside of the canister down with glass cleaner before install.
If you have Powerflex poly bushings you have to grease the inner metal cylinder where it contacts the bushing I believe, but don't quote me.

don't use any lube! also make sure the hole they go in is squeaky clean, I used a polishing attachment on my drill to make sure the holes were free from bits of old bush and dirt as you will struggle to get new ones in smoothly if there is debris up there. also don't undo the bolts with an air gun as one of mine stripped! would use a bar to crack them off then use a gun to wind the rest out if your using one that is

Your idea is sound. Keep things clean is a good thing. Just don't polish it until it is see-through.

I used brake and clutch cleaner with a rag then polished off with the drill with an orbital polisher literally for 5 seconds, prob overkill but had one handy so thought may as well use it. a cloth and a good clean will be enough though im sure
