Interesting... Still wont crank

I replaced my starter today and had to remove the plate referenced (2001 3.0)... I also put in a new battery and she still won't crank... Also checked all #5 fuses. Unfortunately still no crank. Preparing to disconnect oil level sensor and give it a shot... Any thoughts/guidance??? Thanks in advance.

Ps: Replaced the fuel pump previously January, 2014... No clicking sound, lights up as normal w/ gear indicated.

If you have the lights on and try to crank it do the lights dim?

Check to make sure you're getting juice at the starter. I had to replace a battery cable.

BTW : Starter tested out well. Unfortunately, I learned this after replacing it... Thanks though. Original part and at 192k miles, would've likely been next to go...

Do you have a second key? Perhaps the chip in your key is zapped so the EWS is preventing the starter from engaging. Or the ring antenna is not transmitting the transponder code to the EWS module.

2 things come to mind.

1.Make sure the engine is not hydraulically locked with fuel which a doubt. Pull a plug out.

2. Make sure it's in park or the natural safety switch is not broken or corroded. Run the gears up and down manually then try and start it..try to start it in Neutral. . Then go under the car and unplug the neutral safety switch and spray WD-40 in the contacts. I did this when the Fail Safe Prong message came on and it fixed it completely. I also remember the protective plastic shroud in one 6 inch spot was cracked from the heat and were it bent around the trans.....there was a TSB on that switch for 2000 & 2001 models...mine is a 2002 and it had the same problem. I ended up changing it just to be safe.

Still pending resolution... Update

Thanks for the guidance folks... UPDATE: Checked all the aspects referenced and found that my EWS went bad. Swapped it out, replaced the DME, key and cylinder and coded. She now starts but dies after a few seconds. Dug deeper and found that i was getting no response from my pedal. Took it off and tested to see if fluctuating when the pedal is pressed and nothing . At this stage, Considering replacing the pedal/potentiometer and throttle body. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

-Tried unplugging the oil level sensor and also previously tried starting her in Neutral.Outcome = No luv
