Nothing to do? why not throw the X5 in a ditch...
Well, last Sunday I decided with the family to go do some snow racket.
I took a secondary road (narrow) and went to park on the side near the snow bank. I was careful and ready to stop if I started to feel some loose ground. Well, I wasn't lucky, there was a 4' deep ditch, BUT it was covered by snow. The snow plow, plowed the road wider to make room for future snow falls, and the ditch looked like the rest of the road because it was at the same level. So, the X5 started to slide sideways in the ditch, and stopped when it got high centered on the diff and protection plates. I had a shovel and a 3 inch tow strap, but we couldn't move the 5000lbs X one inch. I had to call someone who pulled me out with his Mazda B2600 4X4. It was easy for him since he was on solid ground. Well, next time when in doubt, I will go out and poke with something to make sure there is ground under the snow. Live and learn... We still had time to do some snow racket and the weather and scenery was nice. ![]() My daughter shoveling beside the X ![]()
