brand of oil pressure switch

Does it matter what brand of switch I use, I have read that some of the BMW parts are touchy and OEM is the way to go......but......$$$$$$ so I guess I am asking do I go OEM or can I go to auto Zone and get that part.....

Surprisingly, the BMW oil P switch is very cheap.

PN 12 61 7 568 480 is about $8-$10.

I do not trust Autozones DuraDont parts.

Just get the OEM one, apparently it is very cheap.

Belts, hoses, window regulators, gaskets & electrical items are STRICTLY Genuine BMW parts only in my book.

OEM only means they are a supplier to BMW of original parts. Most OEM manufacturers make "OEM BMW" parts with lower quality standards and/or materials then the "Genuine BMW" parts provided to BMW.

Be aware "Genuine BMW" and "BMW OEM" are not the same thing!
