My New 2006 X5 4.4i
I just purchased a 2006 X5 4.4i with sport package, tow package, etc. This was a fully optioned car. I am in love with this thing. I've only had the car for a week and it already feels like home. The color is Highland Green Metallic with black interior. I've got a long list of modifications that I plan on doing but I'm going to enjoy the car for a while before I start tearing into her. A couple of things I have in mind: Brighter white LED AE bulbs Run AE's with DRL 4500k low beam bulbs Whiter fog light bulbs (not hid's but something to match the low beams) Dynavin N6 Navigation (mostly for upgraded features and ipod integration) 10" Sub fitted in the factory sub location 4.8is Fender Flares Possibly some free flowing headers and an axle back muffler Software flash Roof Rack cross bars for my snowboards M5 steering wheel swap Feel free to comment on my modification ideas. Suggestions are appreciated. This is not my first BMW but it is my first X5. My previous car was a 650hp E46 M3. -Chris |

I would definetly source a wider wheel setup+spacers if you plan on running 4.8 flares. Or just wider wheels without the flares itll look beefy too.
Looks clean, give it a detail, the plastics seem a little grayish... any interior shots?

Thanks guys. I'll post up some interior shots tomorrow.
She is definitely in need of a detail. I'll be taking care of that this weekend. Full interior exterior with a trim restoration until I get the flares. I'm looking into wheel options right now. I definitely want to stick to a BMW wheel. I don't like the look of any of the aftermarket wheels out there. What wheels do you have 4.8isx5? I kinda like those. Question, is the 4.8is flare the best flare for this car? |

I've been looking all over for the Le Mans flares and I priced them out at the dealer close to $900. It's too bad the retrofit kit is NLA. I really dig the front flares. It the Le Mans editor ion the only one that can with front flares?
Looks like I'll be picking up the 4.8is flares. I'll need the diffuser too? I think it'll probably look stupid without it. |

You can buy the 4.8is flared wheel arches ($160 apiece), the lower LeMans flare sections ($20 apiece), and the front flared wheel arches ($160 apiece), plus your assorted clips and fasteners. The retrofit kit may be NLA as a total set but you can purchase individually the below:

Same color combo as my previous 3.0. I grew to like it a lot after a dozen or so polishes. I also like the easy wear and clean up on black leather.

One of my favorite colors and I've only ever seen 1 in person. Nice find!
