Unless you buy Red Line diff fluid with the NS at the back of the number, you're getting fluid with limited slip additive in it.

I redid my research and agree with you Kirk now, thanks for clarifying. I just thought it was funny because he ordered transfer case kit from ECS and could have just gotten Redline fluid to match lol

I think the scariest part for me is the trans fluid change because of all the horror stories. With that said though, there's a lot of variables that people may forget, like not following the fill instructions properly and not having enough oil in. I want to find a really good diy for the trans so that I can read it like 15 times before I actually do anything. The diffs and transfer case are probably pretty straight forward.

Diff fluid has a lot of mystery with it and I just wanted to clarify what I've learned from all my experience. For instance, from my racing experience I learned that one of the things you can do to increase the lockup on a limited slip is to use regular diff fluid and add less than the recommended friction modifier. On the race track, no one can hear your diff groaning.

They have built in o-rings now. Supposedly one time use though I've reused them.

Isn't the transfer case just D3?

Up until 2003. From 2004 onwards they are x drive, which use a unique fluid.

The unique fluid is apparently unicorn tears based on the price. There is no substitute.
