Issue with ECS Spacers. Anyone else? FIXED
Hi Guys, I installed a set of ECS 15mm spacers up front and it caused a bad shimmy. The bolts ECS sent me had a 17mm head instead of the 19mm head. I am thinking that is the problem. Anyone else tried ECS spacers and run into a similar issue? Thank you!

Are they hub centric? I've found the only ones without issues are the bolt on DRA spacers

Is there a play on the hub (from hub to spacer and spacer to wheel)? Also, E53 uses conical seat "wobble" bolts. See picture below.

I am running the DRA 30mm on the rear and love them. I wish they made them in a 12mm or 15mm.

The bolts ECS provided are conical but they are NOT wobble bolts. I've contacted ECS and explained to them the issue. Let's see what they say.

Side note, I hate our stock wheel bolts. Such an odd size and style. Not easy for replacements.

What tires are you using, and are you lifted?

I run the ECS tuning 15mm spacers on my X5 and 850i and no issues what so ever with the 17mm head bolts OR the spacer them selves.
sorry to hear you are having issues.

It’s probably due to excessive play from spacer to wheel. ECS has good customer service, I’m sure they will send you a replacement and have the bad ones picked up at their expense. I always preferred Turner Motorsport spacers since they have indents on the outer edges so you can fit a screwdriver in there to remove the spacer. Over time, spacers usually become stuck to the hub and can be tricky to remove.
