Could have still been made in China. I brought a PORSCHE relay for my 911 and it was packaged in a PORSCHE box, but inside the relay had stamped on it Made in China.

I've been attempting to keep China parts off my vehicles.

Needed a coilpack last year, called Classic BMW, gave them Bremi Germany part number, told them I want a BREMI unit!, was told they have 3 in stock, $130.

When I unboxed after VCG replacement, saw "Pulse, China". NO "made in china" on box, ONLY on coil!

I SPECIFIED BREMI COIL when I called. I ended up paying DOUBLE online price to the dealer for a China coil!

The BMW dealer network is FORCING DIYers away from their parts counters.

German made "new old stock" is still available online. I found an online seller with Bremi German made coils after this, $70 with delivery.

You may need to bleed the system again. Get the nose of the X5 higher than the rear of the X5 (jack it up if you have to). Heater controls to the highest heat setting too.

However, my Intravee iPod attachment has a feature that gives me a constant readout of temp of the X5 on my nav screen. Mine ranges from 210F to 219F all day long on an 8 hour drive. So assuming you were reporting in degrees celsius, without doing the maths I'd say we're pretty close.

I bled it pretty throughly, heat at 90, wheel between vents full red, 20mins, very hot air.

Temps are reported in Celsius by unlocked cluster.

Thanks

Seems like fraud to me.

No point of manufacture on my boxes or parts. Both in BMW boxes.

Really.

Seems to contradict the "Want the best parts for your BMW? Buy parts from a BMW dealer" spew.

I now follow the "Want the best parts for your BMW? Buy German made NOS online!

Top dollar dealer prices for China parts is for CHUMPS!

I checked the old thermostat, water spills through the valve although it looks closed. I guess it was letting water pass it shouldn't have thus cooling the motor.

I am up to 15.1mpg on the display, previous best (although averaging 14.6mpg actual) was 13.2

I had been driving more conservatively since late January, mpg was up a bit from 13.8 but since I replaced the pump & thermostat it is near 16.5.
