2001 Angel Eye Project!!!

Just recently purchased a pair of used OEM HID headlights on craigslight for my upcoming angel eye project!!! Ordered some LED Halo rings on ebay. Smooth sailing so far!!!..... Not! Unfortunately I didn't receive everything in the description of this halo kit. The only thing(s) missing are these "transparent plastic clips" My question is: Are these necessary for my install? I have been looking everywhere online for these and cant seem to find anything.... Maybe my terminology is wrong? (transparrent alligator clips). The ebay seller is being unresponsive and this might end up getting returned. Does anyone know what these clips are called or what I can use to improvise? I dont trust using adhesive pads exclusively... I contacted a few sellers on ebay and the one that responded to me said they wont sell me the clips... Thanks in advance!!!

You don't need them. Secure with fishing wire, double sided tape, or epoxy.

Those clips are for E46 applications

If you are reinstalling the waffle lenses those should actually secure the rings as well because the waffle lenses will "sandwich" the rings in place between the black plastic shroud and the waffle lens.

Thanks my friend! Unfortunately I am now in search for some new Angel eyes... I plugged the ebay ones into a power supply and was not impressed with the results. They were China LEDS (you get what you pay for...). Any recomondations for Angel eye kits? I am almost considering going to CCFL...

I've used those before and not had an issue. The CCFL's I've used have always been dimmer than the SMD LED's.

If you want the best, go with Umntiza V2 rings, you will pay for them though.

I might give them a chance, I hooked them up to a power supply and noticed that they werent as bright as my old DEPO ones. However, I also noticed that the voltage dropped on the power supply from 12v to 10v. I cranked it up to 12.5 V and have to admit that they didnt look to bad. The only issue i have now is that I feel the LEDs are spaced two far apart from one another. I will post pics later on!!!

Base halogen ones with solid orange corners. Sorry for the late post, I have been unbelievably busy with work. I have not had a chance to pull the old ones apart!!!
