X5 e70 mud flap question

Hello. I have a 2008 X5 e70 3,0sd. It has the 20" wheel arches and aerodynamic package. After intensive googling I have found that there are two possible flaps for the rear.

82160420836 is the part number for mud flaps with 20" wheels (and aero kit).

82160430714 is the part number for mud flaps with 21" wheels (and aero kit).

The lather is discontiued.

Does anyone know what the actual difference is?

Well that`s okay that you might not like them. But I find that there is something missing where the wide arch ends. They also keep some dirt away from the sides of the car, so theres that.

But back to topic, What is the difference between the two?

Hi, I guess you could easily call up a dealership that has both items in stock, talk them nicely and have someone pull them from the shelves and do a direct comparison for you.

However, I have seen many of the Fender Extension Arch Flares listed as for 20" and 21" wheels. I guess one of the key differences for the wheels besides the obvious diameter could be the Offset or Stickout which you can increase with Spacers.

Yes that is right. But the 21" version of those flaps are sold out everywhere except a few on ebay.
So I just got the 20" ones from a dealer here in norway. (The ebay ones would be twice as expensive with shipping and taxes..)

Will update with pics when they arrive.

I downloaded the installation manual, and the difference is that the 21" ones go higher up the rear wheel arch, and it is probably a bit wider.

Here you go. Finished with the hideous 19" summer wheels. Looking for some 20" style 333 or style 214 wheels.

Since this seems related, has anyone used these ebay knockoff mudflaps?

I don't think you want those flaps on your nice 4.8i. You want people behind you to see your big ass tires, especially you have the 214 style wheels with 315 at the rear. Just my 2 cents
