Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor Problem

2008 4.8i with comfort seats

I'm having a problem with my passenger seat occupancy sensor. I get a passenger seatbelt warning, even when no one is sitting in the passenger seat.

First question....is this car part of the occupancy sensor recall to replace the mat?

Second question, if it's not part of the recall, (which I don't think it is,) has anyone had any luck getting this done as a goodwill repair?

Finally, can someone help me with a part number for the sensor mat? I can't seem to find this on RealOEM. I think I need the whole seat cushion, but not sure.

Thanks

I had this issue too. Used the BMWhat app to clear the fault and it never came back.

There is no fault to clear on my car.

I noticed another interesting thing in my car today with respect to this problem. Even though I was getting a passenger seatbelt warning, (with no one in the passenger seat), once I connected the seatbelt, the warning went off. But the curious thing is that the Passenger Airbag Off light remained lit.

It senses there is some weight on the seat, but it is under 35 lbs(or whatever is the exact number) and the pass airbag is deactivated. This is the sole purpose of the weight sensing system.
