New tires - Landsail LS-588 SUV 275/315

My '08 4.8i has had four sets of tires (105k miles.) Two sets of HP Dueler RFTs ($1400), one Proxes ST II ($950), and now these cheap things.

So I figured I'd drop some pics in and I'll check back in 5k to continue the review. So far I cannot say much other than they were cheeeeeeeeap - which was my #1 goal since I'll be getting rid of the car if it asks for another $2,500 in maintenance within a year.

Landsail and Delinte are Chinese tires made by Sentury Tire and distributed throughout the US by the large wholesalers. $600 (out the door) for all four (275 front / 315 rear) from Bears Tires in San Diego.

The only thing I can say now is that they grab the road more than the Proxes. The Proxes were fine and still had plenty of tread but a bubble from loving the curb showed up on the front and back. As most know, trying to find a used replacement for a 275 is difficult but finding a 315 is near impossible. Since I have two still decent of each - I'll prob list them on eBay - which of course could offset the new tires cost by half.

This is all summer driving in So Cal since we never get rain. And I'm waiting for a few hundred more miles before I take them for some hard cornering. Noise will always be an issue but I will note if it's excessive.

are you sure those blisters are from curbs and not manufacturing defects? May be too late now.

Yes I'm sure that it was the curb. I won't blame the wife. It was all me. Burrs on the rims to show for it - exactly where the bubbles were.

Blisters = ply separation. Extreme hazard. Glad you replaced them!
