I believe on that one they had to lower the engine to get to it if I remember correctly.

What type of X do you have? Gas or diesel...I would definitely get a checkup if it is a 4.8...

It all depends on your relationship with your SA. if, over the last 49,999 (or 99,999) miles you cultivated one, it can pay off. if you are the kind of person that never connected, viewed SAs as interchangeable functionaries, dont be surprised when they treat you as an interchangeable customer...

Did you service your X at the dealership?

Story about relationship building: My brother is a tech for VW and works for one of the busiest dealerships in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and he just recently had a customer bring in a 2013 Touareg TDI with 150km...out of warranty and in need of a new seat because the element could not turn off and eventually punctured the leather...Since the owner was a loyal customer, the dealership "good-willed" the labour and the seat (cannot replace just the element, whole seat has to go)...

Ard is totally correct, if you paid no attention to form a relationship with your SA than you may regret it, even if you did give him 2 thumbs up on the internet...

Just my 2 cents

Yeah, the evap seems to fail, mine is being replaced as I type this. Which is why in post 4 I suggested he makes sure the A/C system is working properly.

Funny thing, I had a test drive for a 4.8 scheduled before I bought my Treg and when I turned it on, coolant pissed out everywhere. Got a phone call a few days later from the dealership and they said that they will be wholesaling the X as the coolant exchange pipe blew...after that occurred and after reading posts on here, I steered clear from the 4.8...which was still difficult for me to do...that's how I ended up in a 4.2 Treg...
