^ Yep. When the $475 pilot sport is the floor you know you're in trouble.

Obviously the decision is yours. Tire wise I would suggest none run flats. I recently got Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta for about 275 a peace.

^ Thanks Gregg. I've never cared for runflats and will be avoiding them. Also not crazy about the tread pattern on that tire but, regardless, they don't seem to be available in the correct size.

Choose the tire that meets your spec. The only two things that I can add from my personal experiance: - there is a new version of the Vred's available (maybe something you like. - toyos compare to vreds were unstable on wet surface Good luck to you. |

Unfortunately you have no other choice if third row seat is an option in your vehicle. Just replaced all 4 tires and they perform well without the noise some people complain. It is what it is...

I'm kind of looking to do this as well. My tires have not a ton of life left in them so I'm thinking when it's replacement time, I'll get the staggered 20s. They look SO much better. I'm not sure if I'll do the trim pieces, but something tells me it may look weird if I don't.
FWIW, "All Factory Wheels" has good prices on reconditioned stock wheels (at least they say they are BMW stock) and you can get the matching size tires on Discount Tire Direct for a decent price. Personally since I'm in Texas, I'd opt for the Falken Azenis, a set of the 20s is less than $900 |

Well it's not perfect. I was searching for the perfect one (space gray diesel) and got tired of waiting. It's an 08 with a 115k so older and higher mileage than preferred, but it's in great shape and was optioned right which are the two most important factors. Cold weather, premium sound, double sport pack (zsp and 0330, optional style 128s), adaptive drive, power gate, pano roof, 3rd row with climate and rear dvd (if you consider those positives), premium pack, tech pack, rear climate, comfort access. Black with saddle brown interior. Oh, and the ever-coveted "increased top speed limiter" (0840).
Warranties are a rip-off unless they're free with the car. That said, it was a cpo and has been under extended warranty ever since. Working on transferring it to me which would cover up through 135k but I'm not really holding my breath that will work out. |
