Re the idle. I am with you. I have had 4 other 6 cylinder BMWs and they were/are smooth and responsive. I kick myself regularity for a) selling my 2011 335 and b) for not considering a 35i X5. I can feel vibration in my steering wheel and wondered for a while if I had an engine mount going out, but 30k miles later it appears to be normal for the v8.

Don't know what you can do re the I drive. Mine is pretty sticky as well. But to be honest, while the I drive was nicer in my 2011, the navigation still sucked...

I haven't noticed vibration from the v8 ... I also have a 330I with the 6cylinder.

With the car running, can you feel it at all in the seat or steering wheel? My e39 has 256k and it is literally undetectable from a vibration/humming/feel standpoint.

Can't help you much except to say that I can stream Bluetooth audio such as music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn Radio, etc. with no problem. I have a 2011 xDrive35d with Combox.

I believe that without the Combox controller you can't stream Bluetooth audio and I don't know off the top of my head if it was available in your model year.

Check bmwarchive.com to check your options.

ETA: That someone can be so sure that the O2 sensors should be replaced at 100k miles and then be so insistent that the MAFS is good to go at 100k miles is hilarious to me.

^ Thanks. I have the full option list and I don't have the Combox. Pretty sure that wasn't available in '08 but I'm still sorting all that out. Looks like upgrading to newer iDrive and a Combox is a $3k endeavor and, while that would all be great, just isn't worthwhile.
