E-Box Fan fault 2F71

My code reader is throwing an E-Box fan fault code 2F71. From everything I read, it's not a terribly difficult replacement to DIY in general. But on my 2008 E70, however, I cannot seem to find the E-Box to get started! Anyone have a goo description of the best way to do this (and any pics)?

In the NE it's 80+ outside each day. With the fan not operating (I assume this..maybe it's the fuse?), am I putting the control unit(s) in significant danger (as in I should go to the dealer and buy the part immediately) or can I order one <cheaper> online and wait a week to do it and still drive in these 80-90 outdoor temps?

I think you will be fine driving the car without the fan. On my E60 the fan was kaput for more than a year in Central Texas (i.e. 100+ temps regularly). No harm was done by the time I got around to replacing the fan. And, on my E60 (same electrical architecture as E70), the fan was at the bottom of the E-box, so all the electronics have to come out to access it. Just be methodical and take pictures if you it makes you feel better.
