No option to update iDrive in 2011

So the good news is my wife and I decided to get a 2011 X5 xDrive35i! I love the diesel, and it's such a fun ride!

I was trying to see how I could go about updating the iDrive software, and read that you can go on wwww.bmw.com/update to download the firmware.

Whenever I punch in my VIN, no updates show up. I also can't find anoption to update the iDrive in the iDrive menu itself. I know that my car was an 08/2010 build and I do not have the combox.

I do have the USB slot in my glove compartment - am i missing something here?

Thanks guys!

I'm curious about this as well. A guy over on www.xbimmers.com did an entire LCI LED update onto his X5M and had the dealership reset/update all the modules throughout the car, so basically it acts like a new car. I'd like to do the same since the PO of my X5M has music stored on the hard drive, GPS history, etc. I get the feeling we both need to make a run to the dealership to see how much a "courtesy" like this would cost.

These updates are for cars that have Combox and will only update the Bluetooth stack and interfaces to external media players/usb sticks. They cannot upgrade the software in the CIC.
