'11 Front Pads and Rotors - a/c delco?

So we bought a used '11 x35d and it's finally out of warranty. First big cost is going to be the front and rear brakes being done. As you can guess the BMW dealership was stupid. The BMW specialist was a little less stupid and the local repair shop was not as stupid. The BMW place uses OEM parts and wants $770 to do the work, while my local shop will use A/C delco parts and wants $440. Even if I bump up and use some different parts aftermarket parts like brembo etc i'm in the low 500s.

The question is, should I worry about using A/C delco ceramic pads and rotors? I have them on my '12 mini and haven't seen any issues.
thanks

There are quite a few brake job threads i seen lately and most of them used non-bmw parts. Do a quick search for brakes and read them. Some people mix and match with oem and non-oem

I typically purchase discs/disks/rotors from BMW as usually their pricing is competitive (and they are normally in stock) with quality aftermarket parts. Plus, I am assured they are machined properly for wheel fitment, etc. I use Akebono pads, never OE, and love them.

Please do not purchase ac delco parts for your BMW. Buy the parts yourself and have an independent shop do the installation if you can't.

But Zimmerman rotors and Textar brake pads and you'll have the same parts You would buy at BMW for significantly less.

I run PowerStop brake kits on all of my cars/trucks.

I have a full 4 wheel set for my X5 that I should have installed in the next month when time permits. I have PowerStop on 4 other cars, including my E46 and have had no regrets.

Verify fitment, but this should be the front set for your vehicle - http://www.amazon.com/Power-Stop-K60...0_SR160%2C160_

I have a set of new oem front and rear brake pads for sale if you want to save some money. I like BMW oem pads and I run them on my M3 and X5 because they have great cold bite.

Quick advice!
I did the front break job it was $300
-new cross drilled rotors
-red stuff pads
-new sensor
-stainless screw for the rotor onto the hub

Brakes work excellent and 70% less brake dust all together.
Will be doing the rears in the next couple of weeks. Probably be the same cost $300.

Piece of cake brake job, 2 hours max and I did the oil change.

I would stick with bmw or brand name rotors such as bosch, brembo, zimmerman ac delco, etc. I like the ones with zinc coated hats to prevent rust. used napa house brand 'premium' once they wrapped shortly

as for pad I never use bmw. always aftermarket with low dusting. akebono, centric, stoptech etc.
