Slow ccc idrive boot up. What is normal

My 2009 idrive is slow to boot up. Sometimes it takes 15+ seconds for the backup camera to cut on. One out of 5 times the camera comes up in 3 seconds. When slow, it just sticks at the BMW logo. Unlocking with the key fob seems to give it a head start.

I hear the DVD spinning a lot while this is happening. Once booted things are still slow for the next 30 seconds. Specifically radio presets sometimes don't work until fully booted along with the inability to select other idrive options. I have had one full lockup in the past month.

So what is normal with these old CCC systems? Also, what is a good number to budget if I want to go CIC. It looks like around $1500. My 09 only has 37k miles on it and the only missing option I care about is the CIC.

thanks
