Which back up camera to retrofit into 2012 35d?

Hi everyone,

I've searched here, as well as other sites, and I see it is very easy to retrofit a backup camera into my 2012 35d w/ with CIC and PDC. My question is: which backup camera should I buy?

Since I have PDC I know I can get the OEM camera and snake the wires. The cost is reasonable. That said it looks like aftermarket guys have a comparable product with a few additional features (such as dynamic lines, or iphone display on CIC screen). The aftermarket stuff also looks easier to install - though this isn't a deal breaker.

At this time, and correct me if I am wrong, it doesn't look like anyone is making an HD camera (probably limited by the input resolution).

So let's assume that money isn't an object, and I just wanted the best gear. I don't need top view (while cool, I don't need it) and I just wanted the best backup camera to be displayed on the CIC screen. Which setup would you buy?

The dynamic lines are in the OE camera too. I have exact one that you need for a retrofit, $120 shipped

Why are you selling? I'm looking to put rearview camera into mine. I've looked into bimmertech and bimmerretrofit and their kits have the camera in the trunk lid. I've seen someone buy a cheap camera from ebay and that fits directly into the OEM camera port.

I bought the camera to swap out my pre LCI camera. You need the camera, the camera module and the harness to retofit the camera using OE parts.

You can also go the cheaper route of using the ebay cameras, those work too and are definitely cheaper than going OE parts.

Here is what the OE retrofit looks like
