Bmw x5 D 2010 GPS upgrade?

I have x5 35d 2010. I will like to upgrade the my gps for new version. I don't know how to install. Please any advice. Thanks

The best way to go about it is doing it through BimmerRetrofits.com. They code everything to your car and will almost be plug and play if not Plug & Play completely.

I went through a guy on e90forum. He provided me with an activation code and files for 2016-1. It took about 1 hour to do. Very simple.

Checkout this thread: 2016-1 CIC/NBT Navigation Map Update:

He sends you the download links for the software and you just put it on a USB 2.0 (cannot be 3.0) 32GB (or 3 x 8GB) thumb drive. Plug it in and he generates a code to activate your software (based upon your vin).

First...lets define some terms.

OP do you simply want to update to the current map data for the nav?

OR... do you want to upgrade your nav system.

Two ENTIRELY different things. One is $50, another can be thou$ands
