Battery Replacement

Yesterday, I got so fed up with the random electrical errors and broke down for a new battery. Despite everyone (3 places telling) me that the battery was fine I was still dead set on the original 8 year old battery on my 150K truck was the culprit.

I was getting/experiencing problems with climate control, I-drive, dash board, tail lamp, rear climate control, power window one touch, remote entry, welcome lights, clock resetting, and the sound system. It started getting worse about a week ago. I was sick of resetting the errors and having things randomly popup with no logical reason.

Battery install took maybe 20 minutes, and registering it took another 5.

Immediately after registering it and starting the truck which roared to life, I got the expected Active steering and 4x4 error. I recalibrated the steering (full turns left and right) the errors went away and cleared all the codes.

Put about 200 miles of mixed driving on it yesterday with mixed styles of driving. The truck felt amazing. My windows operated faster, the telescoping wheel was faster, the truck responded to my inputs accelerating with much greater response and transmission as well. I had my husband drive it and he remarked on how it didn't feel lethargic anymore.

Amazingly when I brought the battery back to Advance Auto ($192.00 with $20 core charge, 3 year replacement warranty) They said the original battery was bad. 11.5 was where it was sitting.

I ran a scan this morning minutes after getting to work today and ZERO codes.

Like everyone says on here, random electrical errors are most likely caused by a battery that is on its way out the door.
