What kind of compressor, for rear air ride equipped x5 or just a plug in compressor for the tires?

I have this one that I used for years Slime Digital Tire Inflator - Walmart.com
I like it because you can set the psi and it will stop inflating after it reaches that. Although, the reading may be inaccurate as it differs from the digital gauge that I keep in the glove box. |

Hard to beat the Viair 88P. Amazon has them. Great duty cycle, built in accurate gauge. It clamps to your battery terminals instead of the lighter plug, avoiding popped fuses.

I'm fond of Harbour Freight devices - not the cheap ones, but ones @$30 or so with coupons, etc. Small, reliable, inflate 20s at decent speed. You do have to start it first, connect to tire after to prevent blown fuses, which I think is a issue for all 'hi output' inflators.

I just use a cheap one and it worked each time, both car running and in ACC mode.
Maybe get one that has a fuse on the pump itself?

VIAIR 85P Portable Air Compressor
best one I've owned. works great. btw, the air compressor will not work in the cigarette plug in the front or rear seats. It only works in the rear cargo one. I also got an extension cord. BESTEK 12V 24V Cigarette Lighter Plug Cigarette Lighter Socket 12-Foot Extension Cord (Black) |
