I know it has something to do with the MOST bus. From what I've found online, if it's disconnected, or the moduel it's connected to stopped working, it will cause the same issues i'm experiencing. No sound no cd/dvd playback, no nav, and other issues. Also CIC might be looking for whatever option it had before, read that coding can disable the option so the MOST bus can stop looking for it. Unfortunately, I can't do that without instructions and the proper program/tools needed. Found some good info, but nothing soild. 2 days in and no luck. This is really frustrating. Where the hell do the Most wires in front go ? I need to find where they go to see if there is a break in the connections.

So I just finished checking the fiber optic cables in the back and there's no light shining through, so those are pretty much dead. I'm not sure if those are the issue. I really don't know what else to do. I'm stumped. Found some other post saying a amp update fixed the problem. I don't know if that's the case with me, but I'm willing to try at this point. I'm thisclose to grabbing a piece of 2x4 and beating the damn thing. I know the speakers are getting power, but I don't think the amp is getting the signal. Also when I push the star button or release the trunk or unlock a door, the speakers make a click/pop sound. I need to figure this out quickly before my wife kills me

If your car only had preparation for bluetooth, but no module, that is exactly what you would see in the back. Okay, that makes a lot more sense if there is no light shining through it, it means on the splitter block for the MOST bus in the rear of the car, that pair of fiber is not connected.

Most likely the car your donor cic came from had a different amp. So I would start to focus on your INPA + Daten file installation. You need to get that working so you can code the CIC.

What version of standard tools did you get, and what version of daten files. did you follow the instructions for manually copying certain directories after running laden.bat to update the daten files?

I downloaded a 7.5gb file of daten files for the E70. When I went to replace them and started NCS I would get errors. Maybe I did it wrong. Also my NCS and standard tools seems to be a bit off as far as the installation goes.
Do you know where I can download a clean version of the tools I need ? Can inpa figure out if the amp is showing an error?

I'm going to erase all of the programs I have and start with a clean install. If I can't get anything to work I might try one of those remote coders worst case scenario

So I'm thinking my amp software firmware is too old to work with CIC. There no other issue I could think of. I need to flash or upgrade it. I've been looking around, but can't find any instruction on how to do it.

Glad to hear you've come this far.

I'm surprised you don't have BT. I wonder if this will cause problems. I suspect all CIC E70's had BT. I wonder if there is a coding variant for CIC w/o BT?

Do you know the version No. of the SP Daten files you just reinstalled? They need to be close to or newer than the built date of the donor CIC.

Does the CIC boot at power on?....BMW Logo on the 2012 CIC in my '08.
Do any iDrive functions display? HVAC, Settings, Vehicle Info....etc?

Finally! After hours and hours of trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with the CIC I've finally got it working. I've been searching for days and was trying to code the CIC to my X. I was getting error after error. NCS would not code CIC. I've downloaded more than a dozen different files from the bmw tools to E70 DATEN files and different version of NCS. None of them worked.

I was swapping file after file trying to see which combo would work. None of the programs I downloaded would work without modifications. Today reinstalled BMW Standard Tools for the millionth time and tried to code the CIC to my X. Error after error. I took about 2 hours swapping out files from the c:NCSEXPERT. None of the damn programs work correctly after installing. So I downloaded a bunch of different versions of NCS and keep the one that was closest to being able to function properly. Then I swapped the files from working version into c:NCSEXPERT. Tried to code got error. Replaced files again tried once last time. WUALA! the damn thing worked. CIC rebooted and started up. First thing I saw was the mute symbol. Unmuted it and hallelujah, music to my ears. I must of found the right combo of files the program needed to run properly. Now I have to code different option i'm guessing since the update software option is missing. Also Navigation isn't working I'm in the Atlantic ocean in Canada by St. John's Island.

So in my case the CIC WILL NOT FUNCTION AT ALL without coding it the the vehicle. No sound no nothing!
