So I've noticed some minor issues like I can only turn up the volume till a certain point and it won't go any higher. I've also got to code some different options I might like. So now the first question is how do I fix the nav problem ?

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
Nav takes a while to register the satellites. Leave it outside for a while

Do you know the version No. of the SP Daten files you just reinstalled? They need to be close to or newer than the built date of the donor CIC.

Does the CIC boot at power on?....BMW Logo on the 2012 CIC in my '08.
Do any iDrive functions display? HVAC, Settings, Vehicle Info....etc?
Did power on and had some setting but none of them would work properly. Wouldn't measure oil and TPMS did work at all. No sound. The only thing I was able to do was update the maps to North American. CIC was from a Euro E71 and had euro maps installed.

Thank you for all the advice, couldn't of done it without your help. So the option to update the CIC software disappeared. I don't if I have to change the build date or add different option to CAS.

Get it working, flash CIC with V41 of daten files and you won't need an FSC code for BMW apps.
Then buy combox, since you don't have mulf, you won't even have to disconnect it, just plug in combox (will need to move pins to a different connector) or buy retrofit harness like this

See this thread for the things the combox gives you

That will give me all of the options the CIC had before coding correct ? Would I need to remove the CIC again to install combox ? If so, are there any instructions that you know of that could help me out as far as installation goes ? I have no idea where I would stick that thing lol.

Ok so I'm going to need a few things. Combox 84109257160. What other parts would I need to completely retrofit the combox, considering I don't have TCU and MULF installed.

Did you connect the sharkfin GPS antenna or install an ebay GPS antenna?

In addition to $609 - Nav, I added $620 - Voice; and $6UH - Traffic to the VO. Voice commands now work and I get route traffic info on the Nav.

eBay GPS antenna, was included in purchase of CIC. If I add those options will they work with my CIC ?

No idea if they'll work for you, but you can always remove from VO and re-code.

I had trouble with the ebay magnetic antenna, but it was useful to verify the GPS did indeed work. I had to put it on the a-pillar outside in order to reliably get a connection. I ended up buying a 4m extension cable from ebay. Connected to the blue connector (?) in your photo post 23. I ran it along the drivers side of the carpet under the plastic trim near the door sill, and up into the dash to get to the CIC. Works really well.
