INPA still the best DIY tool?

I haven't had any BMWs for a while now, but like to be able to do most stuff myself. Used to have DIS GT1, INPA and Carsoft. I know GT1 was replaced with SSS Progman a lot of years ago. Also GT1 was a nightmare to configure and get running.

What's the easiest and best tool available for E70 DIY? Preferably either stand alone or for a normal Windows laptop.
