Oh, wait...
Where in the hell can you buy $800 tires? It's not stupid to buy quality tires. What is stupid is to buy no-name replica wheels and "Lexani LX9 or similar" tires, basically not even knowing what you're getting for $1369 and that is a shockingly low price for wheels and tires. That was what was being commented on by ard and not that the OP wasn't spending "enough." Geez, project much?

Aside from a tasteful bodykit and expensive Stage X tuning, X5 owners may not be interested in doing anything else, because just driving a BMW SAV puts them apart of the crowd and satisfies most of the reasons people want to mod their cars.

If you want to be a true "playa" then the best mod is an "M" letter next to an "X5", and that does not mean just the sticker but the real deal, know what I mean!
I agree, not really what I was getting at though.

You're accusing me of projecting? I didn't respond to ard. I didn't suggest it was stupid to buy quality tires. I'm currently running Pilot SS's. I didn't comment on the wheels or tires the OP posted about, although I generally agree with your sentiment on them.

Is buying factory fitted tires equate to "spending tons of cash on ridiculous tires"? Alternatively, buying budget friendly tires and brakes doesn't put people's safety at risk - bad drivers do. Drive within the limits of your equipment. Period.

I wasn't aware Michelin made the PSS in X5 sizes.

Well the X isn't my only car, but yes they do. And DAMN have they gotten cheaper since last time I bought them for the X. That's a welcome surprise.

I have them on my M5. They are a great tire for sure. I thought the "equivalent" SUV tire was the Pilot Sport 3 or something.

Modding based on public opinion is NEVER a good idea.

The owner needs to make the decisions based on what they deem acceptable (after all, they're the one who will have drop the $s and drive it).

Most BMW owners choose to go the OE+ mod route, this is where, at a glance it looks stock, yet under closer examination things are different (if it looks modded from 100yds away, you went too far in most BMW owners eyes).

Just don't be thin skinned if you rice it out and most find it distasteful.
