display wont come on

hello
i have a 2007 x5 that i left in a garage for 4 months in florida, after returning i tried starting my car without charging the battary and the car car started right up,but after i started it up a diagram of a battery showed up where the odometer is but now the display wont light up and the screen is dark and the radio does not work.i am not sure what to do. i tried to disconnect the battery for about an hour or so but that didnt help, and i checked all the fuses and they all seem to be good.any help would be appreciate it.
.
thanks

WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS PART? you turned it off? you drove it for 44 days, 2800 miles, etc etc/

All I can think of is that some module got scrambled due to very low voltage....

Have you fully charged the battery with a AGM charger?

By "screen" you mean the nav/radio display? The dash all works fine?

Next time leave it on a trickle charger...MUCH cheaper than a new nav, etc

Take it to someplace that has the ability to connect to the BMW system, check each module. If you are DIY, load a laptop and get a wifi OBD adaper...

Hold down both eject buttons for the DVD and CD drives while pushing the radio power knob. That will force a re-boot. Longshot but worth a try.

Doesn't the e70 have the cluster tests? If like other BMW models...if you do cluster TEST 9 (engine not running)....you should be able to see the battery's voltage. This is helpful for owners that may not have a multi-meter at hand to check the battery's voltage. If the battery is below 11.89 volts...then it is around approx 0% state of charge. This doesn't mean the battery is completely dead...but it is operating in its reserve capacity.

EDIT: yes, the e70 instrument cluster can be unlocked like previous generation BMWs to see some functions and data that can be accesssed when you don't have diagnostic equipment at hand:

What's s your battery's voltage after all surface charge has been removed? If you don't have a meter to check it...do OBC TEST 9 and report back what it's voltage is.

Will it take a CD or spit out the nav DVD? That would tell you the CCC is getting power.
