Another Liftgate Problem Thread

Having some issues with power lift gate all of a sudden. It has been working great. At first, lift gate would open but not close. If I removed the 5amp fuse then reinstalled it would close.

Now, when I try to open it will unlock, but is very difficult to move up unless I hold the release on lift gate. Pretty weird issue. There is power getting to the motor, but just seems really messed up. Closes and lights turn off. So doesn't seem like the latch is the issue.

I took apart the trunk trim and inspected the harness for tears, didn't find any. I have 2 codes, A2B5 and A2B6 for tailgate ECU.

I see most common failure is the drivers side spindle drive, but I am now worried about the actual issue may be the lift gate control unit.

Any advice before I start ordering parts? Car is 2010 X5 35D with 125k!
