Turbo removal from 09 35D

Guess i can't change the title...

I am new here but I apologize for posting a question as a first post.

I did search but haven't seen much of what I'm trying to find.

My sisters X5 is sitting on my lift. We had the dpf coded out and now I'm trying to remove the dpf. I've lowered the subframe 3". My next thought is to remove the engine mounts and try drop the subframe out completely. I have a bar holding the engine up above. Should I remove the bracket that attaches the mount to the engine as well? Do I need to do both sides?

The heat sheild on the top turbo seems to have more bolts than I can see. I got the main one that's near the top and one that's a good but lower. There is a bunch of solenoids that I am also trying to pull away from the head but having a hard time.

Are there any good posts to reference? I'm hoping to make a video on how to do this but first I need to get the job done so I'm not simply a fool in bolting things.

I appreciate any help I can get

First and foremost-dont be scared. I have done this in my backyard on 2' jackstands. I did unbolt the right side engine mount bracket and dropped the subframe a few inches. Your job should be much easier having the engine supported from the top. Worst part was the pipes for the pressure differential sensor, i had to bend them and after that the DPF went out easy.

Where would that sensor be? Is it the side piece that bolts the dpf? I haven't determined if that must be disconnected before or if I can do it once out.

DPS pipes are on the top of the DPF. The side piece is the low pressure EGR cooler, better disconnect it from the DPF. LP EGR cooler also has 2 coolant lines going in and out of it. You either have to leave it there hanging or loop the coolant lines.

Thanks. Will get that done soon.

What do most people do with the 2 hoses on the top of the dpf? Do they get looped as well?

And on unplugging the sensors besides the front o2 and pyro sensor- do I disconnect the ones on the unit lower the passenger seat further back on the exhaust?
