BT Call Oddities

Have an '08 X5 4.8. When making a phone call over Bluetooth, how do you disconnect the phone and leave the vehicle?

By either turning off the car, or disconnecting the phone and then turning the car off, the radio stays on. No idea how to turn it off. And that's both the fob that has CA, and mine, which I need to insert. Radio still will be on after pulling the fob out. I'm kind of assuming it will eventually turn itself off, but still extremely annoying. I come home and my wife is frequently just sitting idling in her car because she can't shut it off and continue the phone call.

should be a setting on the phone. Mine is at the same place to switch it to speaker phone, I get the choice between:
Speaker
Handset
Vehicle

We do that, but the radio stays on.

Last time she was walking inside, using the phone in her hand, and I was trying to turn it off. Steering wheel retracts, but radio stays on. Hit on/off again, steering wheel extends, radio is still on. Basically the car had to lose connection with the phone before it would turn off. I guess turning Bluetooth off on her phone would do it, but that seems an unnecessary step.

sorry, I misunderstood the original problem.
I'm not sure if I can help. Does leaving the car and locking it turn it off?

my '08 with CA leaves the stereo on until i lock the vehicle if i did not insert the fob into the ignition. otherwise it shuts down upon removal of the fob from the ignition. maybe it's a coding option you can change in, say, carly?

According to my wife the radio stayed on after locking but it was off when I went out a little later to check.

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on carly until I had a little more time. I should take a look.
