Uh, you sure about that? If the tire MANUFACTURER allows a repair, you are getting a free repair. NOT a new tire cause the car mfg says 'no repair allowed'. Not what a salesman told you either....

Anyway, I am 100% fine with repairs for flats- as long as it is in a repairable location and they do it right- ZERO concerns

From experience I would carry a air pump ,tire plug kit and the green slime.
I picked up a screw in rear tire on a Saturday night with everything closed for the weekend driving through the mountains. The after hours service call to get me going $250.00 for a patch and was only 5 miles from the tire shop. just my 2 cent's. Running DWS06 tires.

ard you are pretty active here and I think in the past you have been decently helpful on this forum, but just as an aside, you sound super argumentative in many of your posts - Simply asking me where I found that info out would have sufficed.

Here is the complete Road Hazard Link, and I highlighted the paragraph pertaining to BMW's and my wifes tires -

https://www.tirerack.com/images/tire...thRHP_Cert.pdf

FLAT TIRE REPAIR:
If an Eligible Tire is damaged due to a covered road hazard during the Benefit Period and can be safely repaired per industry standards and guidelines, the tire may be repaired at any tire service facility. Reimbursement is strictly limited to the cost to repair your tire and may not exceed $25.00 per tire per occurrence. You are responsible for any additional charges including but not limited to mounting, balancing, taxes, and miscellaneous fees. The Protection will remain in effect for the repaired tire for the remainder of the Benefit Period. Eligible Tires for Porsches, BMWs, Nissan GT-Rs, and any other vehicles the manufacturer of which recommends against repairing tires, and all Continental-brand and General-brand Eligible Tires,

have primary replacement coverage (see Tire Replacement section below) and need not be repaired when damaged due to a covered road hazard during the Benefit Period.

Hey Everyone,

After 13 years of proud ownership, I just sold my 2001 E53 and bought a 2013 E70.

First thing I did was remove that ridiculous phone cradle in the center console (thanks to the posts on this forum).

Second thing I plan on doing is swapping out the runflats. That being said, I just added a spare tire kit. After searching the web, the best deal I could find was $346 shipped directly from Germany. Rim, tire (155/90R18), scissor jack, lug wrench, foam organizer insert and a wing screw with plate to keep everything from rattling around. Fits like a glove and I didn't even have to remove the liner.

Here's the website in case anyone is interested.

Looking forward to another 13 years with this beauty!

Welcome. I had the same experience. Sold my 01' 4.4 with 235K miles and bought a 13'. The E70 is for me a very nice ride. I also removed the phone cradle but kept the M sport run flats. With the sport suspension its a very firm ride but acceptable. I love the extra storage of the spare tire compartment. I believe all new BMW's (except the M versions) are now running run flats?

Hey, thanks Tomaz, good to be here.

I think you're right, all but the M versions are issued runflats.

You and I definitely have had similar experiences, right down to our 3 series before the '01s. I had a 1990 325is I bought in 1997...wow, 20 years of BMWs, I'm getting old!

Just to bring this back around...that's the same BMW part nbr and kit mentioned in post #8. If someone was looking for this kit...they might want to check their local BMW dealership's parts department and see what the going price is to order it...and many times they will price match if you bring in proof of purchase price from another source.

This could save you in S&H costs...and just leave you with the cost of the kit and whatever your local taxes are.

Just a thought.

Just wanted to update -

Wife got a nail in the front of her DWS06 - Called up road hazard administrator for Tire Rack's program - She said send her 4 pictures (tread, nail, serial # on tire, and pic of the tire name), and place a new order for a replacement tire - did both of those, and I have a reimbursement check for the full $269.10 including shipping on the way.

Just took her wheel to the shop to replace the bad tire and balance the new one, $39 out of pocket.

The woman said that for their program, if you really wanted to just repair the tire, they would reimburse for that too. But Continental brand tires, or tires that are mounted on BMW's are eligible for free replacement as BMW does not recommend repairs (I'm sure for liability purposes)
