Install: Yellow LED fogs and white LED DRLs

We finally had some decent weather up here in Portland, so I installed my yellow LED fog lights and Cree LED daytime running lights. I like the way it turned out, especially considering all in it was sub-$100.

Fog lights ($30): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N67FMQ5
Load resistors for fog lights ($11): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KOA2JF0
DRLs ($46): BMW 120W Total H8 CREE LED Angel Eyes Halo Ring Bulbs White Canbus E90 E92 E60 | eBay

And just noticed my one of my HID bulbs is a slightly different color... Any recommendations for HID bulbs?

Depends on the color temp you like - I like 4300K stock color so I recommend Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited -

I noticed the DRLs dim slightly when the HIDs are on. Can this be disabled?

You can if you have Carly app. You can also increase the intensity of them like i did.

Funny how i write this and next day my bulb on the driving light blows lol
I will have to get another pair or yellow H8 bulbs, or maybe i will try another color

This is a look I'm going for. How did you mount/place the resistors? I see where they get super hot. I like that the Halo CREES come with a 2 yr replacement guarantee. I'm going to order those.

There were two resistor packs per bulb, and I was able to fit them inside the headlight housing. So far no issues, however we haven't been above 55 degrees here in the PNW since the install. We'll see how they hold up in the summer.

Comparing the two, the OEM Halogens are quite a bit dimmer, yellow... of course that's compared to the LEDs. I like these LEDs, they are nice! At night, there is no comparison between the two. However, I really noticed how the outer ring is noticeably dimmer than the inner, but one light source for 2 rings will do that, I suppose. With the actual HID mains, its not noticeable. Anyway, the yellow LED fogs is next on the lighting upgrade list.

Looks great! I almost put in the 3K LED fog lights when I did mine but decided on pure white to match my headlights and angel eyes. I'm still not sure which I like better...
