oh yeah, you are right, it did fit, Do I need to do anything else to get it to work? I still do not see in on the radio screen.

I am still ignorant to the ways of the "newer" infotainment systems from BMW, but is it possible that the new module needs to be coded to the VO, or possibly the iDrive needs to be coded to accept the new module?

In e38 land, where I'm a bit more familiar, there's often strange issues found when swapping out used infotainment bits without some coding to the car.

Since you had it before and they put a terminator on the fiber optic cables you attached, try this; unplug that from the siriusxm receiver and turn put your key in the dash. Then go look at that cable, does one of the two fiber optic cables light up red? If both dark, then the dealership probably disconnected the cables involved at the MOST BUS connector on the drivers side C pillar.

If it does light up, then they probably disabled it in the coding of the car and you will need it activated with a code and update to the car. There are a lot of sellers online that can do that for you remotely and far less than the cost of going to the dealer.

HI, Thanks, Yes One of the fiber optic does goes on. Do you have any online link I can search for, for the remote coding?

Thank You all

You need to either modify you FA to add the code back in, and then code your CCC, or just find the SDARS line in your CCC and make it activ

Hi Blue Dragon

Can you put this in English, for a dummy like me. Where do I find this FA and SDARS?

Every option in your car is described by a string of characters. If you go to one of the vin decoding sites, you will see the options for your car.
Sirius is $655. Most likely the dealer removed this from your car so it would not throw an error about the disconnected satellite radio module.

All the modules in your car need to know you have it, so you need to code the CAS and the CCC to tell them they should communicate with the sirius module.

Within the CCC, there will be options for SDARS. These are the ones you will need to change.
As for coding, if you cannot do it yourself, email [email protected] and get a quote from Okee. I highly recommend his coding services
