35d 2VA production numbers

Is there any way to look up or research 35d production numbers with the 2VA option code? I'm specifically looking for a 2011-2013 35d with adaptive drive and other option codes as well. By far the most elusive is the darn adaptive drive. In fact, I've pretty much only seen one and it was on deposit before it was even listed for sale in Seattle (I'm in Jersey). So I just want to know how realistic it is to find one for sale. I figured I'd start by trying to find out production numbers by model and option codes if possible.

$3500 option, they are few and far between on the LCI model. It came as part of the sport package on the pre-LCI, so it is way more common there.

That's going to be a bit laborious as you will have to go through a BMW vin decoder and input one vin at a time.

As mentioned, is it quite rare for the LCI's because dealers rarely ordered it and most people wouldn't spend the money on that option.

I custom ordered my X5 so yes I do have it. It's one of the best options I have.

What other options/codes are you looking for?

That's too bad. Was the sport package available on the pre-lci diesels? Other options are the sport package (knowing it's different on the lci's), style 214 wheels, heated steering wheel, and comfort seats. 3rd row would be nice, but not necessary. I've been doing the whole thing of scouring ads for lci 35d's, scanning for the wheels, then scanning the vins of those trucks with those wheels for the options I've been looking for. I don't mind doing the work, but I'd like to know what the chances are of finding it. The one in Seattle that I found also is white with black leather...so extra bonus if it weren't already spoken for.

Yes, it was offered on diesels. I have 2VA on my '09 diesel. Its actually one of the reasons I've held onto it so long, it doesn't drive like a traditional SUV at all, stays flat in the corners

You are in for a slog.

The "Sport Package" included 2VA up to 2009. In 2010 they changed it to the "Sport ACTIVITY Package"- which became a cosmetic pack, and 2VA was stand alone. I had ordered a 2009 (refused it) then a 2010 (lemoned it) and a 2012 (have it)

Other than looking up the VIN, if you can see a picture of the shifter and see a "sport" button, that works....

-214 wheels will be an upgrade to the Sport Activity Package (ZAP).
-Heated steering (248) wheel will be part of the Cold Weather Package (ZCW)
-Multi-contour seats (aka: comfort seats) (456) is a standalone option
-3rd row seats (4UB) was a weird option because it automatically triggered the rear self-leveling system (220) and the 3rd row seat climate control (4NC).
-A little known fact is if you order nappa leather, then the optional 3rd row seat is also nappa. But with nevada leather interiors, the third row seats are leatherette.

My reference is for MY2011. There were package changes for 2012 but it was more of shuffling things around than anything.

There were many options available for the X5. Ask me how I know.

Price is on a distinguished road
Look, the adaptive drive thing on a 5.. 7 y.o. car is more of a liability than a premium; just google the part prices and the typical issues with 5..7 y.o. diesels to realize there's a big difference of having a sophisticated (read expensive) system under warranty and diagnostics/replacement costs at own dime.

Not saying it sucks, just wouldn't buy used.

Spent over a year looking for a 2VA nationwide. Ended up with a loaded 09 35d w/ 30k miles. Swapped out the CCC iDrive for CIC/combox and I am happy.

I was living on the west coast just before I purchased. I did notice that the west coast diesels would sell much faster than the east coast ones. West coast people are more into the alternate fuel things. When for sale in TX and FL they can sit for many months before they are auctioned off to another market where they may sell better.

I appreciate the feedback, guys. I haven't thought much about repair cost to the system, but I know that it's not pretty. When the self-leveling airbags went in my e39 wagon (sold), it was about $400 per side for just the bag. I also don't know what else I can do besides look for a adaptive drive since I want the best cornering I can get as well as the ability to tow. Seeing as I'd be leaving my M5, performance is still important to me.

I have no idea what the CCC iDrive vs CIC/combox is, but I will Google that : )
