So last night......

This happened on 294 North.....driving along and I noticed that the truck started to ride really funny. and I was leaning to the left.....turned the music down and heard the damn compressor running. Shit......Limp to the Ohare Oasis.....

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

2 hours later

[IMG][/IMG]

3 hours Later

[IMG][/IMG]

and finally 4 hours the truck shows up....

[IMG][/IMG]

1045 pm from what would have been a quick jaunt home as the traffic wasnt that bad.....

[IMG][/IMG]

So I get to tear into this today. Sigh. I actually wanted to go into work.

blue dragon will become famous soon enough
Bags are not that hard to change. Glad you had the foresight to stop so the compressor didn't keep running and burn out, which would have been even more $$$.

BMW cargo box similar to the Thule Atlantis 21 cubic foot box?

Yes I think so. I searched High and Low for one of these damn things. Scored this one on ebay for $125 from a newer X3 owner.

I changed the bags with Arnott bags and also am planning on swapping the suspension block that I bought 6 months ago. It pops up very quickly now and the compressor is very quiet. I still have a leak somewhere. I can hear a small hiss from the drivers side rear when it idles and it sits down after a day of sitting on just the passenger side. When it is off I hear nothing. Maybe a line? If my husband wasnt such a goof, I would have had him go grab a trailer and come down with the truck to get me but explaining that would have been like a monkey doing a math problem. Sigh.

Replaced the Block and Suspension lines (Only about 18 inches of line.) I bought them off a guy on ebay. 30 bucks and about an hour total for both sides and the damn thing stays sitting up. I used an arnott block. I was afraid of damaging my bags when this settled through the day so I fabricated a "Genuine BMW Kickstand" out of a 2x4 that would only let the truck settle about an inch rather then the 6-8" when the bags deflated. Been about a week and all is well. The compressor has kicked on maybe once or twice since doing this.

BMW X5 (F15) 2014-2016 Suspension Air Line Hose & Connector Repair Kit | eBay

Here is the link for the line repair. FYI the connector they supply will NOT work with the Arnott Bag. Its too short and that little flange prevents you from being able to screw it in securely. I reused the Arnott Connectors to the bag because they are brand new. Worked like a champ.
