Another Trailer Coding problem...

OK...so I have done sooo much reading these past few weeks to be prepared for when I get back home and attempt to get my trailer module working and actually get brake lights working on the trailer. Turn signals work (as most have said in MANY posts on this subject) but no trailer brake lights!
(Yes, it is the BMW trailer Module AHMU and I did the VO add as found here online.)

I went back to the beginning and went thru everything I could find on this subject but still no joy. My concern is the "coding CIC, KOMBI... " and the AHMU is in US so do I have read them and have to "write" them back to the vehicle if they look OK?

Sooo...the big question...
Can I "-AHMU" to the VO to remove anything I may have screwed up and again start from scratch or should I continue to troubleshoot as to why my trailer control module is not playing nicely in the sandbox?

If anyone has any suggestions I am willing to try almost anything! Installed my hitch back in Feb and have had multiple attempts to get the brakes to work without any luck...

Thanks for the feedback and help

BTW: everything else I wanted to change worked flawlessly!

Maybe there is an option in ista/p that codes the trailer option.
I will try to take a look tomorrow if you don't have ista/p

I have NCS Expert and NCS for dummies but not ista/p

This 2013 X5 is a beauty but a PITA too...software isn't difficult but trying to find an easy users guide is not so easy!

Thanks for the input...

I don't know if it's euro or not. Theres other options for usa/can dpf, etc. It detected my e70 and gave me those options.

Honestly, I agree about these cars. Great but the BMW community can be very stingy on sharing info, especially about coding. Some jerks that overcharge to do coding purposely mislead people to gain business. My buddy has an m5 e60 and when he did his CIC retrofit, he was purposely mislead by 2 people on a m5 forum on how to fix an issue. As soon as he found out and questioned these "senior member experts" the jerky mod started to cover it up. It's seriously messed up compared to the past TDIclub forum where most of the time people were honest and open to share info.

RobNitro;
I am in the process of getting the ISTA/p as you suggested and once again have to do lots of reading in order to figure THAT software out...do you know if there are any step-by-step guides for Insta/p and save me the whole "RTFM" again?
Tks

Read the faq pdf in the tools folder.
Follow those instructions first. Use expert mode so it doesn't force you to update modules.
You have to click k+dcan in the ista loader to start the way istap can work with usb dcan.

If after that you have problems connecting with ista/p like I did, you may need to do this:
Go to control panel, network connections, adapter settings. Find the one that was added by the installer, for usb or called virtual adapter. Inside the settings for that adapter, choose tcp/ip v4, change the address from auto to 169.254.0.8, subnetmask 255.255.0.0 (or whatever ista/p says the address when you pick the device in istap).
Restart computer and try ista/p expert mode again.

If you have issues, just ask here and include which operating system you are using.

AHM Module
LAENDERVARIANTE_AHM to "us"

PDC MODULE
ANHAENGERKUPPLUNG aktiv -> nicht

CAPPL module
ANHAENGERKUPPLUNG aktiv -> nicht

Here's a pic of mine with the OEM aero kit.
