Well...I hope the OP got the info since the same video has been posted twice as well as being mentioned multiple times that there's a video that shows how to do it in approx 4 minutes. (see post #7 for the other link to this video).

Update: I took it to a local Indy here and they were able to order the part and install ($70 all together for part + labor). Thanks to all for the information.

Easy fix for the issue
Hi, I might be a little bit late to the party, but I have repaired my sticky door handles with the leather, I did not wanted to pay a mechanic to replace the handles, instead I wrapped them myself with the cover, here is the link to the video that shows how to do it.

The replacement part is about 20 bucks on eBay and about a 10 minute job to install 😀🙃

Yup did mine last weekend. Probably would not pull the lacing so tight next time but it turned out fine. One more problem, fixed.
