Suspension problem e70 4.8

Hello all,

I recently had the engine out for rebuild. Afterwards the car was reassembled (by the rebuilder) I am experiencing a clunk with driving over potholes.

Upon further inspection of the suspension I found the following:

When I wiggle the rotor i get movement only in the CV axle (see video below)

Could someone tell me how can I fix this? I haven’t felt with BMW all-wheel drive system yet. I am an experienced DIYer though with work mostly on e39 v8 and E46 chases.

The nut on the cv shaft that is in the middle of the rotor is probably loose. If not, it could be the wheel bearing itself going bad, but with that much movement I think it's a loose nut.

That was my initial thought. I checked the suspension and all ball joints and bushings look great! I appreciate your reply. Any input on what size is that collar nut?

It’s 36mm 12 point. I did the research. I bought the socket yesterday from carquest $8.

The torqu speck is 310 ft-lb.

I will perform the job and report back.
