Build Date?

When did the E70's first come out? I know they were widened and lengthened and horsepower was increased on the 6 cylinders and 8 bangers...
What am I looking at $$ wise for a best bang for the buck in the earlier years of the X70?
Looking for 300 horse or better but don't know price ranges. I had an '06 E53 and it was underpowered especially after getting an E39 540i after it...
Any and all insight is much appreciated as usual.

An 06 e53 X5 what? There were 3 different engines for the 06 model year in the USA...and in mentioning an e39 540i...we have no clue as to what e53 X5 you're comparing it to. The 3.0, 4.4, or 4.8is? The suffix should be included so that we know what e53 your're referring to.

An 06 e53 X5 3.0 would be comparable to the e39 530i...the 06 X5 4.4 & 4.8is would have the new gen N62 BMW V8 engine that would be comparable to the e60/e65 545i/745i.

The e70 X5 debuted for the 2007 model year...and the e70 LCI (facelift) I believe started with the 2010/2011 model year.
