Charging battery once a week? geez...what do you guys have as batteries- cell phone batteries??

If you're keeping the car for a few more years, consider the AM Android unit from Avin USA or Yokotron. $500 well worth it...

Sure if you want to spend 10% of your car's value on an unrecoverable upgrade. It doesn't cost $500 unless you want to forego all the standard options. Sounds great but it's a poor investment unless you're keeping the car for five more years or more.

It's truly a matter of opinion in that regard. My car is certainly worth more than that and the investment was maybe 5% of the cars value? Regardless, it really makes the car more enjoyable, since you don't have to worry about CCC issues. In terms of the options, as long as your car is equipped from factory with Navi, this is truly plug and play with no additional features needed to spend money on-- plus you can easily remove and resell it when you trade your car in.

Either way, do whats best for you. I don't plan on keeping the car 5+ years, but am glad it is up to par with more modern car systems with the addition of this feature.

Definitely worth the $$. Everything is reversible and you DO NOT need navi for this unit to work. My X5 came with the smallest screen, no navi and it was still a plug-and-play.

This. However, non navi cars will require a little more work getting them installed. Still all reversible.

Really? What were the extra steps? Besides throwing the GPS antenna in the back of the unit.
